tumbledown - empty bottle

Mike Herrera the leader of a gang of punk-pop pioneers such as MxPx, back again with his band project called Tumbledown, which is his alter-ego to make country music, rockabilly and folk ... "empty bottles" This is his second official album, although there are some 7 inches, a split and a pair of ep's .... in the description of your myspace says "sounding like ....: country-punk-rockabilly" and it is the truth, the album sounds a country instrumentation 60%, 20% rockabilly and another 20 % punk rock, the album also lettristic is full of classic country music themes about alcohol, fighting, love, loneliness and problems with the law, but despite all that, just do not believe it to Mike Herrera, listen to the record and the melodies seem so "sweet and nice" such as MxPx, so in my opinion staff is like a punk-pop album MxPx normal but country and rockabilly instrumentation ... the truth with a lot of difference with Mike Ness, who did something similar a few years ago to make a momentary pause with his band Social Distortion for a couple of solo albums in a country and rockabilly line, but Mike Ness had a lot more "feeling" when interpreting his songs because he really spent time in jail, had problems with alcohol and drug abuse has experienced the death of loved ones very close to him, etc., and this is reflected in the sound as soon as interpertaciones of the themes of his album, unlike the sweet Mike Herrera that his whole career he has sung to God and love, which is nothing bad singing to these issues, just that we have so used to it, that this new facet of my costs a little more work to give credibility ... not get me wrong, the album is not bad, definitely do recommend this album to fans MxPx and also if you want to listen to some country-pop.
